In Discovery Boards: An Exploration of Values and Vision, my method cuts to the core, bringing the beliefs of the unconscious to light. Psychologist Carl Jung oft touted a similar technique, called “mind-mapping” as a powerful problem-solving tool. He describing the process of the creator or “artist” as “seizing on this image and, in raising it from deepest unconsciousness, bringing it into relation with conscious values—thereby transforming it until it can be accepted by the minds of his contemporaries.”In other words, our subconscious bypasses the ego, allowing for the core of who we are and what we believe to come to light.

I thought I knew what to expect when it came to vision boards: you cut out pictures of things you want from magazines and then you glue it on a board and look at it from time to time.
